How prices are set
Color Line sells the Hirtshals - Larvik crossing at dynamic prices: travel day, sailing, vehicle and booking time all determine the amount, and you'll see the current price in the booking form. With a car, Color Line prices in packages that bundle the vehicle and its occupants; if you book to measure, say with a trailer or a taller vehicle, you pay for the vehicle and people separately. So only the total for the same sailing is really comparable.

In peak season the car price for the same crossing is noticeably higher, and likewise for a motorhome. Booking early and travelling midweek gets you the lowest price.
Color Line: packages and member prices
Color Line sells the crossing with a car as a package: with the car package, the price is per person and the vehicle is included. It covers cars up to 5 metres long and 1.95 metres high; the motorhome package covers two people with a motorhome up to 5 metres long and 2.55 metres high. Members of the Color Club loyalty scheme get the packages at a lower starting price. Membership is arranged directly with Color Line.
Seating on the SuperSpeed 2
The SuperSpeed 2 has no cabins. A place in Centrum Seating and the Family Lounge is included in the ticket. For more peace and quiet, add a seat: Business Class on Deck 8 brings Wi-Fi, a locker, coffee, fruit, water and newspapers, while Voyager Class on Deck 9 has adjustable reclining seats with a child price. Motorcycle, bicycle and on foot
Motorcycles and bicycles are booked as a separate vehicle class. Without a vehicle, you take the foot passenger ticket; the price for your date is shown in the booking form. How the process without a car works is on the On foot & by bike page.

Frequently asked questions about prices
Are fellow travellers included in the car price? +
Yes, with Color Line's packages: the car package applies per person including the vehicle, the motorhome package covers two people with a motorhome. Check the total for your number of people in the booking form.
Which sailing is cheapest? +
This changes with date and demand. Sailings on weekdays and outside Norwegian and Danish school holidays are usually cheaper than summer weekends. Compare the midday and late sailing for your date in the booking form above.
Is it worth booking online? +
Yes. Color Line sells at dynamic prices, the cheaper fares sell out early, and at the terminal you pay the day's price.
Do I need to add a seat? +
No. A place in Centrum Seating and the Family Lounge is included in the ticket. Business Class and Voyager Class are optional extras; amounts are in the table above.
What does the dog cost? +
